Have you ever noticed, when the light hits just right, how water mirrors objects? While in Hawaii, I noticed the beautiful light causing palm trees to be mirrored in the water below. I found myself asking the question, "If I am the water, who do I mirror?"
Who are the people who stand on the shore teaching me about life? Who are the people who help me "grow up” to be more like Jesus? Who are the individuals who help me find the courage to believe, to hope, to love, and to dance when facing life and all its challenges?
So much about myself, as well as life in general, I don't understand but then there are moments, when I catch a glimpse of understanding and I'm thankful. Thankful for the people God has put in my life who have helped to shape me into a person of faith, of hope, and most importantly a person of love. And, like the water, I'm still my own person, but the people God has placed on the shore of my life can be seen in me, as well as the wonderful Creator himself, who makes all things beautiful in His time!
How about you? Who are the people who have impacted your life in a very positive way; helping you to "grow up?" Who do you mirror? Consider these people a gift from God and tell them, today!
"When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a (woman), I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see as only a reflection in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then, I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain, faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love." (1 Cor. 13:11-13, NIV)
